Fatalism

[Текст доступен только на английском языке] The ancient Greeks believed that the fate of man was determined by three sisters known as the Moirae. At the birth of a man, the Moirae spun out the thread of his future life, followed his steps, and directed the consequences of his actions according to the counsel of the gods. Therefore he couldn’t escape the fate assigned to him.

Today’s world is moving toward the opposing dystopias of hyper-centralization and endless fragmentation. People are being stressed, pressured, and disconnected from each other, longing for closeness that they don't have.

Stanislav Glazov’s AV Perfromance ‘Fatalism’ tells the story of a struggle against fate hoping to triumph over it.

Rhythmic and distorted from start to end, this album takes us deep into the subterranean world of our subconscious, emotional human nature. The composition of the tracks expresses the confronting feelings of depression and euphoria, unbelief and faith, fear and determination, obsession, and the destruction of memory.

The overdriven whistling feedback of the first track Inbalance (Dead groove) filled with guitar roar is followed by the slightly slower downbeat sound of Distorted Solitude, which evokes feelings of anxiety and nervousness.

And after that – the powerful intro of Grenzzustand (from German - borderline state) – the track, recorded in one take in this exact state of mind, which defined the distinctive sound of the album – merging together industrial techno and heavy metal, spiced with pure rage.

The visual part of the performance was based on videos taken by the artist during his trips around the world.

In his visuals, urban landscapes, skyscrapers, and female bodies symbolize loneliness, the desire for intimacy, and its impossibility.
