Four contrasting short videos make up the Visual Music programme:
COSMOS shows the gyrations and explosions of galaxy formation which lead, eventually, in a final burst of energy, to the genesis of the Sun. Video URL http://youtu.be/oIbek_4Ohwg
In METAMORPHOSIS, a set of shapes, reminiscent of Autumn leaves in rainbow colours, become increasingly ‘excited’ by clashing and merging with one another – a process of transformation which mimics nature as behaviour of infinite complexity is generated from a simple start-point. Early light sees rose-tinted rocks performing rhythmic sequences in mid-air over the extraordinary landscape of JOSHUA TREE, a National Park in south eastern California. Video URL http://youtu.be/vUeStLeHwQA
In CAVALCADE, radically different two dimensional patterns are generated through mathematical adjustment to the number of shapes (always circles) set in motion and the randomization of their colour, speed and size. Video URL http://youtu.be/04ImB_Wk3qM
The total running time of Visual Music is approximately 20 minutes. This includes a few words of explanation given before each video.
