TouchDesigner Basics
TouchDesigner is a free-to-learn visual programming environment (Windows, macOS) that works great for creating real time interactive multimedia content. In my personal practice I have used it for live video mixing, sound reactive generative graphics and projects that require interactivity. In the workshop I will share some basic things that will help people who have never used TD to get started. You may or may not be familiar with other programs to make live visuals. No knowledge of programming is necessary.

Structure:
1. Setting up and introduction.
2. Creating and navigating networks.
3. Audio module: build a simple component that analyses audio stream.
4. Visual module: make some generative graphics that reacts to the music.
5. UI: make some buttons and sliders to control the visuals.

Outcome of the Workshop:
During the workshop participants will create a sound reactive shape like in the video below.

Participants should bring a laptop and a mouse.

Before the workshop:
1. Download the latest version of TouchDesigner from https://www.derivative.ca/099/Downloads/.
