Musician · Composer · Producer · Sound Artist
Daniele Baroni, known artistically as MudPhon3, is a musician, composer and music producer born in Rome in 2000. His musical education began with classical piano at the age of five and later evolved towards jazz, improvisation and contemporary musical practices. Since 2015, he has pursued jazz piano studies at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome.
His artistic practice explores the intersection of jazz, electronic music, hip hop, sound design and improvisation, with a particular focus on sonic experimentation and the relationship between music and other artistic disciplines.
He has more than six years of professional live performance experience, working with ensembles, small orchestras and marching bands, and performing at festivals and events including Umbria Jazz and Tuscia in Jazz. He has also collaborated with international musicians, including American drummer Justin Faulkner.
Alongside live performance, he works in composition, arrangement and music production, collaborating across different musical formations and genres. He has contributed to productions with artists such as Willie Peyote, Abhi the Nomad, Kino, Lentra, Jo Kwon, David Hugo and Giuse The Lizia, working in production, arrangement and recording.
MudPhon3's artistic research also extends into interdisciplinary and installation-based projects, where sound becomes a means of interaction with space, image, technology and visual arts. He composed and produced music for artistic projects such as E-BURN-EO, presented at the Pisa Architecture Biennale and the Venice Architecture Biennale.
He is a member of the experimental hip hop project M3V, with whom he performed at the Summerweek47 Festival. He also develops projects centred on improvisation and the fusion of acoustic instruments, electronics and contemporary production practices.
Throughout his training, he has attended masterclasses with internationally renowned artists including Cyrus Chestnut, Fabian Almazan, David Liebman, Lenny White, Buster Williams, Rudy Royston and Barry Harris, while further studying piano with Andrea Beneventano, Cinzia Gizzi and Roberto Tarenzi.
Alongside his artistic practice, he is President of Urban Art Lab A.P.S., a cultural association based in Velletri that develops projects focused on contemporary and urban arts, music, interdisciplinary experimentation and youth participation through events, performances, workshops and educational programmes.
