NAISA ( @NAISASoundArt ) introduces its new programming theme Digital in Nature, which is prompted by a reflection on the pervasive presence of digital technology in public life that plays out in parallel to a compulsion to leave the technology of the city behind and disappear up north to be closer to the natural world. The works curated for this year’s Sound Travels slide in and out of different points of tension and sympathy with both digital technology and how the natural world is represented in sound art.

3 interactive outdoor artworks will be showcased during the summer at the NAISA North Media Arts Center in South River

- My Place Here and Now (Who am I Today?) by Port Sidney director Sandy McLennan, an interactive installation. Inaugurated on June 3
- Sounding Bodies by Jonathan Tyrrell, an immersive outdoor instrument where materials quiver with vitality. Inaugurated on June 3
- The Mycorrhizal Rhythm Machine by Tosca Terán (aka Nanotopia). This interactive sculpture turns a Grow Room into a Fungi and Sprout music generator. Inaugurated on July 29.

In addition, two other works of art related to the Digital in Nature theme will be exhibited. The work of Audio Bench, a set of two outdoor picnic tables equipped with listening devices, and Porch Radio, where you can experience the art of sound while enjoying takeaway coffee and snacks from NAISA's cafeteria.
