[Text available only in English] der Warst is the alter ego of interdisciplinary artist and circuit bender Simon Schäfer. Using a laboratory of modified Instruments, video equipment, gaming consoles and otherwise unrelated equipment, he creates glotched-out experiences of beauty and terror. His visuals build abstracted worlds with glitched video game footage, scrambled cameras, feedbacks, and things and stuff, paired with a soundtrack ranging from ambient to speedcore. Being completely improvised and usually quite fast-paced, his performances are predictably unpredictable, challenging to both the performer and the audience.
