[Текст доступен только на английском языке] **Klein** is a video project created by Carmine Masiello in the early years of the new millennium. Through video installations, multimedia performances, and VJ sets, he explores his own idea of perceptual space.
His work is rooted in a painstaking process of research, selection, and manipulation of video material drawn from diverse sources and generative processes, including images and visual structures generated in real time through procedural systems. These materials are fragmented, transformed, recombined, and manipulated live, creating a continuous interplay between pre-existing imagery and real-time visual generation. This process gives rise to a dialectic of opposites that finds its most powerful artistic expression in live performance.
It is a form of collage operating on multiple levels, juxtaposing symbols, consumer objects, and the human body. Through the appropriation, manipulation, and recontextualization of film sequences alongside self-produced footage and real-time generated imagery, the work reflects and reinterprets the collective imagery of contemporary society.
Iconographic representations emerge in unexpected contexts, forming a caustic Babylon of signs and meanings—a simulacrum of mass society.
