[Текст доступен только на английском языке] Carlo Alfano is an Italian director, creative director, composer and artist who has worked at the intersection of creativity and technology for over forty years. His practice spans computer graphics, cinema, electronic music, audiovisual production and, more recently, immersive environments and generative systems.
Active in computer graphics since the early 1980s, he developed extensive experience in film production and visual effects, working as a CGI Supervisor and collaborating on projects connected to directors and artists including Giuseppe Tornatore, Roman Polanski, Gabriele Salvatores, Mario Monicelli and the Taviani brothers. In parallel, he has pursued a career as a composer and sound designer, working across techno and ambient music and creating compositions for audiovisual projects and contemporary dance.
Since 2019, an increasing part of his research has focused on live cinema, immersive installations and narrative video mapping, using space itself as an element of audiovisual construction. His recent projects include directing an immersive event in Bologna celebrating the 150th anniversary of the birth of Guglielmo Marconi.
For Symbiogenesis / Residual Time, Alfano directs the project, develops the Storyverse that forms its narrative universe, and oversees post-production and the soundtrack. His research brings together cinematic construction, sound composition and generative systems, exploring the intersection between narrative, immersive space and artificial intelligence processes.
