Marcel Wierckx
[Text available only in English] Marcel Wierckx is a sound and video artist who creates music and image for concert, film, theatre and dance. His current field of interest is exploring modes of performing live electronic music, including audiovisual systems, live coding, and developing frameworks for interaction. His work transcends musical genre, instrumentation, and style. His current field of interest is exploring modes of performing live electronic music, including audiovisual systems, live coding, and developing frameworks for interaction. His work transcends musical genre, instrumentation, and style. He has worked internationally with renowned ensembles and performers including Tin Men and the Telephone, Metropole Orchestra, Chunky Move, anoukvandijkdc, Dansgroep Amsterdam, Krisztina de Chatel, Monica Germino, Timuçin Sahin, Roderik de Man, 4DSOUND, and Electra Ensemble. He created the music and sound design for Chunky Move's critically acclaimed production An Act of Now which won the Age Critic's Award at the Melbourne Festival, and his work with Tin Men and the Telephone was nominated for the Amsterdam Art Prize in 2016. He is currently lecturer in Live Electronic Music at the Amsterdam Conservatory of Music, and Composition and Creative System Design at the Utrecht School of Music and Technology.
